String lights over the hot tub, a cedar sauna, the woodstove going. A guest's photos from a late-September weekend at Kooser, our Hidden Valley townhouse, show the part of a stay listing photos never do: the evening.
Listing photos are taken at noon with every light on. Nobody's stay looks like that. So when a photographer who stayed at Kooser at the end of September sent us what she'd shot over the weekend, we wanted to show them as they are: the house the way it actually feels once the day is done.
Photos and video: Leila Belle (@leilaabelle), who stayed as our guest in exchange for photographing the house.

The porch, after dark
Kooser's hot tub sits on an enclosed porch strung with café lights. In daylight it's a nice feature. At night, with the jets on and the water lit up, it's the reason to come.

Sauna, soak, fire
Inside there's a cedar sauna, a jetted soaking tub in a cedar-paneled room, and a woodstove in the living room. Her photos run in roughly the order most guests use them.

The rest of the house
Kooser is a townhouse in the Hidden Valley community that sleeps ten, with a full kitchen, a dining table for the group and a deck over the trees. It's a short drive to the lifts at Hidden Valley, with Seven Springs over the same ridge.

Winter is when this house earns it
Everything in these photos gets better in the cold: the steam off the hot tub, the sauna after a ski day, the stove going all evening. If you're planning a winter weekend, our Laurel Highlands winter guide covers when to go and when to book.
